Here at BOMAMED we have developed a comprehensive program for treating sports injuries for professional and amateur athletes and exercise enthusiasts. Our patients include martial artists, fighters, body-builders, golfers, cyclists, skaters, runners as well among others. The treatment program is a balance between promoting high level performance with the enhancement of complete health and wellness.

All sorts of trauma, from bruises to sprains to strains to concussions and fractures can be partially or completely treated with acupuncture and herbs. There are significant advantages to quickly addressing pain and swelling without the possible side effects of drugs. Even if surgery is ultimately necessary, adept application of acupuncture will assist in the healing and rehabilitative process. Elective or emergency surgery is also a situation where acupuncture can be very helpful as surgery is itself a type of trauma that can cause swelling, bruising, pain and loss of function.
Sometimes there is post operative pain which does not improve as expected and acupuncture can be effectively used to reduce that pain. Post surgical pain is often frustrating for both surgeons and patients and is generally poorly addressed by modern Western physicians. Before you start on pharmaceutical drugs or have nerve blocks or more surgery, it is often beneficial to first consider Chinese medicine as an alternative.
The pain of chronic diseases such as arthritis, tendonitis, and others can often be reduced with Chinese medicine and acupuncture. Additionally, many western medications can cause side effects that can be avoided with acupuncture or herbal treatment.
Exercise is also important for rehabilitation, but it is necessary to relieve the pain to a degree where a patient can begin an effective strengthening program.
