...and so do food product companies. Evidently, sugar is on the rise in a society where it has been and remains a huge health issue for many people. In my opinion, over consumption of sugar is a main contributor of chronic disease. Of course, there is not only one factor in this, there are many, and sugar is a big part.
In Chinese medicine, as well as in al kinds of alternative forms of medicine, each food is viewed through its function and influence on physiology. Sugar has "properties" that, when over consumed, creates inflammation. Over time, if something is triggering an inflammatory response, it will begin to create inflammatory diseases.
In my opinion, sugar can contribute to diseases such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, asthma, allergies, interstitial cystitis, vulvadynia, IBS, crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and many others.
